Happy 3rd Birthday Tyler!

Tyler was born exactly 3 years ago tonight. The time has gone by so fast and I can hardly believe he is such a big boy now. Everyday he amazes, challenges, brings us joy and makes us laugh. Happy Birthday, we love you Lil T!

We celebrated with the rest of the family and friends this weekend but tonight it was just the 3 of us. After school Tyler and I came home, picked up Shaun and we went to Chico La (that's Chic Fil A for those of you who don't speak toddlerish). After dinner we came home and gave the candles on the birthday cake another go.

Tyler's Birthday Party

Saturday we had Tyler's birthday party at the park. It was a beautiful day... VERY windy but otherwise the weather was perfect to be outside. We had a great time at the park and then took the party to our house to open presents and enjoy some pizza for dinner.

Of course we had to bring a few balls from home to play with at the park

showing off his throwing skills

Grandaddy fully enjoy our Spiderman themed party. :) Tyler did wear the mask but only for a very short time and I didn't catch a picture.... I will pull out the masks again another day and try to get a picture of him in one

Tyler's friend Braeden taking a shot at the pinata

I was surprised but happy to see that Tyler loved wacking the pinata.... he was having a good ole time, then we told him there was candy inside and his eye lit up and he REALLY wacked it good.

The triumphant victor... Spidermans back is all ripped up and the TON of candy is behind him

So, this was not the day for candles, but we gave it a shot and still enjoyed singing Happy Birthday and having some yummy yummy birthday cake

We have officially moved up to the big boy swing!
My BIG boy

Showing off the drum
Are we crazy for buying him a drum? Maybe, but it was the only thing that he asked for over and over and over and over and over... and then some more

this is basically a punching bag, but Tyler calls it his spaceship... ah imagination

Luckily Grandaddy wouldn't let him escape from the picture with Grandaddy, Gran and Bailey

We can't ever seem to get a good picture of the 3 of us, but this one was kinda cute so there we are in all our silliness

50s Day

Today was 50's day at Tyler's school so I threw together an outfit for him and slicked his hair back a with some gel. His patience at my picture taking is very short these days but he humored me and let me snap a few.

Putt-Putt

The weather was nice outside this weekend that on Saturday afternoon we decided to take Tyler to play Putt-Putt. I wasn't sure how good his attention span would be for this but he surprised us and we all had a great time.

I think we need to work on his form a little but he's got the concept down

Align Center

My favorite part was watching him celebrate on every hole once he got the ball in the hole. If we could all be SO excited about accomplishing the little things in life as he was with putt-putt.

We did of course have to have to stop on the way out at the arcade and "play" some games. We are taking the chance to milk these days where he's just as happy to watch the game without us even having to pay.

Easter fun

We had a fun Easter weekend although I was out of commission on Easter Sunday with a really bad headache. Before that yuckiness though Tyler had a great time at his Easter egg hunt and party at school on Friday... he was NOT a fan of the Easter Bunny though... apparently he screamed. This it not the first negative encounter he has had with people dressed in costume... on the upside that should keep us from having to experience Chucky Cheese for another year or so. WOO HOO!
Saturday morning Tyler and I went to the Easter Eggsperience ( big egg hunt, carnival type thing) at our church where we found something else he is afraid of... clowns. I promise my child is not a big chicken about a lot of things, BUT people dressed as unnatural things really freak him out. The shame of the clown fear was that he REALLY wanted a balloon sword but he just couldn't handle standing close enough to the clowns to have one of them make him a sword. He tired a couple of times and he just couldn't do it. I was proud that he at least tried to overcome the fear. Better luck next year buddy!

the egg hunt went way too fast for me to get pictures during so this is him posing after

they had a couple of craft tables for kids to do Easter related crafts... decorating this egg lasted about a minute for Tyler and he was ready to move on to something else... ah life of a toddler OMG he's really almost 3! (sorry temporary Mom freak out moment)

jumping in 1 of the 3 bouncehouses that we had to try... they actual had 4 but I dodged the last one... Mommy can only handle standing in line for the same thing so many times

But who could blame him really, what's not to love about a bounce house!?

Thursday Grandma picked up Tyler and took him to the park then brought him home and gave him his Easter basket from she and Grandad. Tyler was very excited about all the candy, his new Spiderman basket and the little chia-duck.

Birthday Season

This is the time of year that all of the kids in Tyler's class at school have birthdays so that means cupcakes are an at least weekly treat and there are birthday parties to attend and have.... yes we are counting down to big 3 now.
Last weekend Tyler and I went to his friend Braeden's birthday party at Going Bonkers in Lewisville. He had a lot of sugar and a really fun time. What better way to spend an afternoon.

Tyler showing off his blue mustache sitting next to his buddy the birthday boy.
I tok this picture shortly after explaining to Tyler what the little wooden spoon with the icecream was for... he he Ah the memories with little icecream cups eaten with wooden spoons.
Yea, he was up there somewhere... not entirely sure where though.

"Ok Mom, 1 picture and that's it."

Thomas the Train

A few weeks ago Shaun took off early on Friday and took Tyler to the Day Out With Thomas in Grapevine. They had a great time seeing and taking a ride on the big, live Thomas the Train.

now that's one happy little guy

I love the wonder in his eyes in this picture.

some time to play with one of the train tables

now THAT is a sand box!
