Christmas Day 2010

Sadly, it's after Valentines day and I am just now FINALLY getting this post done and catching up on a few others. So here goes.

We arrived back home late Christmas Eve from our trip to see my family in Tyler so that we could enjoy a leisurely Christmas day at home. It didn't turn out quite like we had planned because Tyler ended up with a stomach bug and was sick most of the day Saturday and early on Sunday but he was feeling OK first thing on Saturday so we were able to open presents before he started feeling bad.

Thankfully at least Tyler didn't start to feel bad until after we'd opened presents. I didn't take a lot of pictures because were were too busy playing after the first one was opened but here's a few.

Tyler was really excited to get his first scooter and demonstrated it for us right away.

I believe this was his favorite gift but a little hard to see here. Evil Doctor Porkchop ship with a little Buzz in it (his exact description when he asked for it)

Despite Tyler's illness we had a great Christmas. Christine came over later in the morning and we made some yummy breakfast stuff, opened stockings, made some SUPER yummy Mexican food for lunch and watched some fun movies. (there may also have been naps involved even by us healthy people. Amazingly Tyler was the only one that got the stomach bug and for that we are VERY thankful.

Tyler spent most of the week of Christmas with my parents in Tyler, then Shaun and I drove over on the 23rd. We had a great time and it was nice this year to spread out our celebrations a bit. My brother was on-call on Christmas Eve, when we usually celebrate, so moved that to the 23rd so he could be there then enjoyed dinner and gifts with my uncle and his family as usual on the 24th.

These pictures are all mixed up because blogger isn't cooperating with me, so NO Tyler didn't have a wardrobe change during opening presents these pictures are from the two different nights.

Uncle Richard got Sydney a magic set and I think Tyler was as excited as Sydney was about it. He kept asking Syd to make him disappear. :) Also, he liked the hat, but notice he is still wearing the gloves that came with the welding torch.

My Mom got Shaun and Tyler both nerfs guns with safety glasses, and my friend Jennifer got Tyler something similar, so, now I have one to protect myself too.

and we're all happy to see that if the whole doctor "gig" doesn't work out my brother is prepared for a career as a pimp ; ) he he (note the nerf dart mid air in this picture about to hit him... we're such a loving family)

Tyler raked it in on the gifts this year! Safe to say we have some toy purging to do at our house so we'll have room for all the fun new stuff that he received. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday as well. Maybe I'll get our few pictures frmo Christmas day posted before Valentines day.

So, FINALLY here's the first of my much delayed Christmas posts...

The Saturday before Christmas we celebrated with Shaun's family since his parents travel to TN for Christmas and we were not going this year. We had a great time as usual and Tyler was so excited about all his gifts. Literally after opening every gift he would say, "This is what I've always wanted!" It was very cute and funny.

Tyler is ready to built and fix everything now with this cool workbench / tool set.

Holiday Concert

Tyler's school had its Holiday a few weeks ago. His class has been practicing since right before Thanksgiving so we were in for a good show. They sang "Frosty the Snowman" and "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus." Tyler did a great job and we enjoyed watching him perform.


Here are a few pictures. I tried to post the video but it was too big or my computer is too slow, either way it was unsuccessful... you'll just have to trust me that it was very cute. :)

Christmas Parade

A few weeks ago Tyler and I went to the Children's Christmas Parade in downtown Dallas with my friend Jennifer. We took the Dart train into downtown then walked over to the parade. Tyler loved the train and once the parade finally started and there were fewer clowns in our proximity he had a great time at the parade too.

Once the parade started he moved his way forward to be able to see and then proceeded to run back to me everytime something cool came through... guess he wanted to be sure I didn't miss anything. :)
