Christmas with Grandma & Grandad

Last weekend we had our Christmas with Shaun's family. It was a nice, relaxed time to visit, eat some yummy food and exchange our gifts. Tyler was a little confused at first that everyone was getting presents and not just him, but he adjusted and had a great time.

We started with stockings and had to stop him from eating the candy as he found each new piece.
This is a cool little book that came with a small Mickey Mouse guitar... one of his favorite gifts so far.

His other favorite... Buzz Lightyear... Tyler will tell you that "Yes I can fly" and knows a lot of the lines from Toy Story already.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Holiday Concert

Friday night Tyler's school had their holiday concert. We were so proud of Tyler. He went up on stage and followed directions doing the motions and singing, a little at least, during the songs that his class did. (Rudolph Has a Big Red Nose and We Wish you a Merry Christmas).

Here he is coming in with his class

Big smile after he's spotted us in the crowd

Gingerbread House

One night this past week Tyler and I put together our gingerbread house. Don't be too impressed people, it was a kit from a box, but it was a fun little project. Tyler did a great job and amazingly didn't try to eat any of the candy.

Shaun was able to capture a pictures of us in progress.

Winter has arrived

Well it's definitely Winter now... It even snowed in Dallas today, go figure!

I apologize for the severe blog drought during the month of November. It's been busy and I've been lazy to update things.
We so enjoyed the nice long break for Thanksgiving this past week and weekend. It was a great combination of time to get a few things done around the house and time to relax. Tyler is excited about Christmas this year and so we pulled out on the decorations and started putting them up around the house, and I took out the Christmas movies. So far Tyler has two favorite dvds that he's sticking with... Mickey's Christmas Carol and the classic Frosty the Snowman.

What? Wearing beads is manly as long as you're wearing a Star Wars shirt isn't it?!

Anyone have any request for me to play?

Rock N Roll baby!

Ta Da! Christmas tree up and decorated, check!

Happy Halloween

Tyler's school had all of the usual festivities on Friday minus the parade due to a water covered parking lot but we were still there to celebrate and get some cute pictures of T and all his friends. Saturday Shaun headed out of town for work this next week so Tyler, Christine, and I had a quite night at home with just a few trick or treaters.

Adventures with Grandad

While Shaun and I were in Waco Tyler spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandad's house back in Dallas. He had a great time and we appreciate them so for entertaining him over the weekend. They were good sports and even got up extra early on Saturday and drove him to Soccertots! They also went shopping because Tyler had several new toys for Grandmas toys to show us when we arrived to pick him up and he is the proud new owner of a Spiderman watch.

one of the new toys, an airplane which clearly was a big hit

if that's not a serious pilot in training I don't know what this is, down to the sunglasses :)

Baylor Homecoming

Shaun and I met some friends in Waco this past weekend for Baylor Homecoming. It was a pretty laid back weekend which was great, and it was fun to experience Baylor with Shaun since although we both graduated from there we didn't meet until we had both moved to Dallas.

Weekend of Fun

This past weekend we went to Tyler to visit my family. We had a great time visiting with everyone and as always Tyler had fun playing with his cousins and entertaining.

all of the kids love to play in my Dad's trailor. Gran was able to get them to sit still for a few pictures in between the running, jumping, etc.

during the silly picture Grandaddy threw in the beach ball from some extra silliness

no shame in riding a girls trike. :)

Sydney and Tyler love to go down the slide and she taught him a few new tricks

monkey see, monkey do

and the dramatic landing! ta da!

and of course we needed a new picture with Gran & Grandaddy

don't you love the way he looks scared to be sitting with me... nice memory to have ;)

Whew! All that activity wears a boy out! Time to go home.

Tyler says "God, please turn the rain off."

my little guy cuddled up on the couch enjoying a little snack

Last night on the way home from church, as it was slightly raining... again, Tyler asked me "what makes it rain?" To which I responded with "God makes it rain," and the response I got as he was looking out the window was "God, please turn the rain off." I thought that was pretty smart. :) Alas, God knows better than us and after a weekend of rain, it still continues.

After Soccertots on Saturday we were stuck inside for the rest of the day so we played with most everything from the toy box, colored, played our new Memory game, and watched no doubt more TV than any 2 year old should but it was a fun day. I think when I look back one day it will be the lazy days around the house cuddled up with my little guy that I will treasure the most.

Catching up

I know I've been a major blog slacker lately. I was sick off and on for a week or so and busy at work so it's just something that fell off the to do list. Here a few pictures from the last several weeks that will catch you up on Tyler happenings.
Several weeks ago Tyler started Soccertots. It's every Saturday and so far I think he's enjoying it. He of course doesn't always want to have to listen and follow directions, but what 2 year old does right!?
Here we are at the back working on our little kicks

I love the concentration it looks like he has here

This is Tyler showing off his new Toy Story shirt and carrying his packpack (aka backpack) on his back to prove me wrong after we crammed it full of clothes, etc. to take to Gran's house

Trip to San Antonio

Tyler took a vacation from school this past week and had a very exciting week... he rode to my parents house with my brother and sister in law on Sunday afternoon, then on Tuesday along with my parents, sister in law, and neices made the trip to the Wild Oak Ranch resort in San Antonio.
Luckily I didn't have to miss all the action and was able to drive down and join them late Wednesday night and enjoy Thursday and Friday with the whole gang. We spent most of the days floating in the lazy river, playing in the sand, swimming in the big pool, or snacking beside the pool. It was a great trip with lots of fun times and memories made. We look forward to the trip next year!

This was his first playing in the sand experience outside of the sand box. He had a blast with the sand and water, filling the buckets, dumping it all together, etc.

Hanging out on the hamock

T and Syd were playing under the hamock... I believ here Sydney was being a cat and Tyler was being a puppy dog.

Syd is such a good poser for pictures.... my little guy on the other hand seems to be a little distracted here... I think he was singing one of the many songs he likes to share with anyone who will listen and watch him.

We love Grandaddy!

All that swimming and entertaining those girls is HARD work!

a rare still moment with Bailey after Smores one night

Do you think he had fun with his cousins?? :)
